Abstract

Polymeric temperature sensors with a broad sensing regime in aqueous solution have been developed. Two strategies, namely including a monomer gradient within the polymer chain and incorporation of highly polar hydroxyl functional comonomer, are evaluated to obtain a broader sensing regime of the thermometer, which is mostly limited to 10 oC for LCST-type polymers.
