Abstract

RbPb2Br5 was studied by SXRD and NPD data from 15 to 573 K, yielding information on Rb–Br and Pb–Br chemical bonds. The electron lone pair of Pb2+ is visualized. Photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra suggest applications in photovoltaics.
