Abstract

CsCuBr3 presents an orthorhombic phase (C2221) at 20–400 K, comprising dimer units of face-sharing [CuBr6] octahedra. At 420 K, a novel high-temperature phase is identified (P6522) containing infinite chains of [CuBr4] square-planar units.
