Abstract

[La(OH)2]+[ARS] inorganic–organic hybrid nanoparticles (ARS: alizarin red S) exhibit pH-dependent absorption and pH-dependent emission, allowing to monitor nanoparticle internalization in cells and the intracellular pH.
