Abstract

Inspired by the bird nest, we develop a hydrothermal approach to prepare MoS2/carbon hollow microspheres with a carbon inner shell and a vertically aligned MoS2 outer shell, which show an excellent performance for reversible alkali-metal ion (Li+, Na+ and K+) storage.
