Abstract

An unprecedented heterogeneous biomimetic device for the reduction of Cu(ii) to Cu(i) through the covalent immobilization of thioglycolic acid onto cellulose paper was developed. The device was used as a very efficient colorimetric and optical detection system for the Cu(ii) species.
