Abstract

Groups, rings and fields — a primer tutorial for engineers This paper describes a tutorial aimed at engendering an early enthusiasm for the subject of abstract algebra. It adopts a linear sequential circuit as the demonstrator hardware and shows the consistency of the algebra in underpinning more familiar analytical methods such as vector-matrix and Z-domain models.
