Abstract

We probed the entire irregular shape of the anterior cingulate cortex during one high-spatial-resolution three-dimensional proton MR spectroscopic examination; this enabled us to compare the rostral and caudal regions within a subject and revealed significant differences in N-acetylaspartate concentrations in patients with schizophrenia that are not seen in healthy subjects.
