Abstract

In the present paper we investigated the electrochemical behaviors of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) on Pt (111), (100) and (110) electrodes. Both polymers hampered the characteristic hydrogen UPD and anion adsorption/desorption on all investigated surfaces, with the processes on Pt(110) being the most affected by their presence. Several oxidation processes appeared in the positive potential sweep and the Pt(111) was found to be the most active for the oxidation processes.
