Abstract

Abstract This chapter focuses on hood therapy as a strategy in treating infectious diseases, e.g., antimicrobial hood therapy (aPDT). Compounds with potential use as antimicrobial photosensitizers are also discussed, including cationic porphyrins, cationic phthalocyanines, cationic bacteriochlorins, phenothiazinium dyes, and cationic fullerenes.
