Hypertensive hypokinetic cardiomyopathy (HHC) is defined by left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction with a history of systemic hypertension as the only possible cause. Although commonly encountered in clinical practice, its characterization and differences with true idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDC) are lacking.
