Abstract

ABSTRACT INTRODUCTION: Chronic lung disease (CLD), clinically known as bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), is a major cause of morbidity in premature newborn and were submitted to oxygen therapy. OBJECTIVE: Immunohistochemical identification of inflammatory molecules in the lung tissue of premature neonates that died with CLD. METHODS: Immunohistochemical analysis of 51 samples of premature newborn lungs – grouped in: without CLD,"classic" CLD and"new" CLD.
