Abstract

This study was designed to elucidate the historical changes in the Tomioka Silk Mill, the changes in land use in the surrounding area, the evaluation of the mill’s value as an industrial heritage site, the evaluation of the surrounding area, and community development for tourism in the surrounding area, and describe future problems and directions in the development of tourism.
