Abstract

Our theory on gas recombining lead-acid batteries, previously proposed in Part. I, has been applied to real systems, and various tests have been performed to determine the rate constants of the gas reactions as a function of the active material of the plates. Comparison between experimental and theoretical data shows the validity of the method used to evaluate the battery behaviour. The influence of H2 and O2 reactions on plate polarization curves is also discussed
