Abstract

We sequenced IgG from genomic DNA of 30 wild European rabbits of O. c. algirus and O. c. cuniculus subspecies from three regions and 15 domestic O. c. cuniculus. Genetic diversity was highest within Iberian wild populations. Only two new amino acid polymorphisms were found, both in O. c. algirus. ; This work was supported by FCT project PTDC/BIA-ANM/3963/2012. ‘Genomics Applied to Genetic Resources’ cofinanced by North Portugal Regional Operational Programme 2007/2013 (ON.2 – O NovoNorte), under the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) supported the doctoral fellowship of Ana Pinheiro (SFRH/BD/71252/2010). ; Peer Reviewed
