Abstract

Abstract Autotransfusion is the collection and reinfusion of the patient's own blood. This technique can help in response to the increasing demand for blood and the heightening awareness of transfusion morbidity1. A simple, low cost, perioperative autotransfusion technique that can be easily practised by all surgeons is described.
