Twelve new cycloartane triterpenes (1-12), as well as five known constituents (13-17), were isolated from the aerial parts of Cimicifuga heradeifolia. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods. Selected compounds were evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxicity against human tumor cell lines (HL-60, SMMC-7721, A-549, MCF-7, and SW-480) and inhibitory activity with STAT 3 signaling pathway.
