Abstract

This drug focus article looks at the use of gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, in a patient with a urinary tract infection and renal impairment. Adrian Coleman and Ting Yee Yau discuss the indications, mechanisms of action, dosing and side effects of this commonly used antibiotic.
