Abstract

Lychnophora spiciformis, a new species from Brazil, is here described and illustrated. The new species is endemic to the Chapada Diamantina in Bahia, Northeastern Brazil. Lychnophora spiciformis is characterized by its pseudoterminal con- gested spike-like inflorescence of capitula or glomerules of capitula. The affinities of this species are discussed.
