Abstract

Optical constants of pulsed laser ablated amorphous high-k LaGdO3 (LGO) thin films on quartz (0001) substrates were measured and analyzed. Refractive indices and extinction coefficients of the LGO layers were estimated to be in the range 2.05 - 2.29 and 0.004 - 0.017, respectively using envelope method. Optical constants were parameterized by analysis of the UV/Visible transmission spectra in the 300 - 750 nm spectral window employing Cauchy-Urbach dispersion model and confirmed the applicability of this model in this wavelength region.
