Abstract

Well-crystallized and large-grained magnesium oxide films were deposited onto soda lime glass substrates by sol–gel technique. The films could be synthesized at a relatively low annealing temperature (∼500 °C). The films were dense and characterized by strong reflections from (200) plane for periclase phase and from (400) plane for the β-phase.
