Abstract

Rational design versus serendipity: The first two high-nuclearity Mn II/III clusters with a novel extended bis(phenylpyrazolyl) pyridyl ligand (see graphic) are described in a promising route for the preparation of new magnetic coordination aggregates, differing from conventional methods involving small bridging ligands.
