Abstract

Geochemistry is the branch of Earth Sciences that utilizes the tools and principles of chemistry to explain the mechanisms regulating the workings – past and present – of the Earth. The reach of geochemistry is broad and extends to the study of the formation of the Earth and the Solar System as well as topics such as the origins and evolution of the Earth’s crust, oceans and atmosphere.
