A series of K beta resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of alpha-Fe2O3 is presented as two-dimensional RIXS maps and analyzed in terms of the Kramers-Heisenberg equation. Genuine lifetime-broadening-suppressed (LBS) spin-selected oscillator strength distributions, which are consistent with Hund's rule, are deduced, It is shown that 2D maps can highlight implications of RIXS results to reveal existences and characteristics of electronic states which are hidden in absorption spectra.
