Abstract

Grid infrastructure built on the Internet and World Wide Web is described. The grid architecture consists of the physical devices, connectivity layer, resource layer, collective layer and user applications. The resource layer contains protocols that exploit communication and authentication protocols to enable secure initiation, monitoring, and control of resource-sharing operations. Grid provides a scalable, secure, high-performance mechanisms for discovering and negotiating access to remote resources.
