Abstract

Some of the issues associated with engineering education, which have, and continue still, to challenge the engineering profession and educators themselves as they confront these problems in the twenty first century are discussed. These include issues associated with attractiveness, curriculum and learning, institutional conflicts and output challenges. These challenges span the entire spectrum from the changing nature of the engineering student population and its expectations through to employer expectations.
