Abstract

The aim of the present study, involving 463 women of reproductive age, was to evaluate for the first time the relationship between endometriosis, endometriosis-related infertility, and a recently described functional polymorphism in the ALOX15 gene, reported to be essential for implantation. In our study population, ALOX15-292 C/T was not correlated either with the risk of developing an endometriosis or with the risk of infertility. (Fertil Steril (R) 2009;91:1414-6.
