Abstract

A town owned track and field stadium in Jerez, Spain was further extended and refurbished. As such, the basic ideas for the conceptual design of the extended structure were described, bearing in mind the complex boundary conditions. Since the extension of th stadium leads to an important increase of the internal forces, challenging problems emerged in relation to the existing structure. This paper emphasizes some of the adopted solutions for such challenges.
