Abstract

The following is an extract from Arthur Miller's 1950 adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, published in 1989 by Nick Hern Books (price £4.50). The characters in this scene from Act I of the play are Dr Stockmann, his brother Peter, who is mayor of the town, his wife, and Petra, his daughter.
