Abstract

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this paper is to describe the value of outbreak and syndromic surveillance data from the Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-based Epidemics (ESSENCE) syndromic surveillance system to monitor respiratory illness activity in Maryland.
