Abstract

A cornbined metirodology utilizing tlie benefits of bofh GPS and IrSAR techniErcs *vas intplemented at trvo hazardous, regarciing soilinstabiiitres, rcgions of Peloponnisos, namely Sellas and Chalkeio (in fulessinia and I(orinthia Prefectures, respectiveiy) and a rnonitoring platfbrm ivith the airn of sliding preventiol rvas developed. GPS campaigns rvere carried out. cGPS staiions s,ere installed and a netrvorle of artificial coni: leflectors rvas established, providirg a combiraiir.:':r ,: sateilite data, v,,hich lvere in turn auai, vzed arid i::::t:=:.: lVith this approach we \yere able to con:bine :::: :.-:-,: tltehigh fempoml resolution of CGP*S sirij;:,-," '- .-= significant spatial resolution that the inSAR is able 1o provide and validate rvith a number of GPS campaigns. In the current study, all relevant activities regarding data collection/acquisition and respective processing are presented, followecl by the first preliminary results, since lve expect to elaborate rnore SAR irnages and other GPS campaign rneasllrernerlts. Hou,ever, ever] lvith observations of 5-6 months, some features of the iandsiide phenomena are highlighted, since regarding HALK station the CGPS station reveaieri that the main component rvhich is affected by the landslide is the N-S component, rvhile in the SELA station smal1 offsets at both horizontal coilrponents rvere detected during UIay 20i1, indicating that the landslide at this area is mainl1, sensitir,,e at the horizontal componellt of motiot. Frorn the GPS campaigns thtrt rvere carrieci out rvithrn a time period of 4 months, dispiacements t'or both regions, reached a rnaximum value of aborit 1 crn, u4rile conceming the prelirninary study of DinSAR anel PSI, the obsenations lrom descending tracks, u,est of the slope, u,ere optimal for both areas.
