Abstract

We report a broad and intense yellow emission band from Ce3+-doped Low Silica Calcium Aluminosilicate (LSCAS) glass obtained under blue light excitation. The CIE 1931 x-y chromatic diagram shows that the association of the Ce3+:LSCAS glass with 405 nm blue LED presents emission very close to the ideal white light position.
