An increasing number of fine chemicals is being produced using heterogeneously catalysed reactions in supercritical carbon dioxide with significant improvements in terms of process selectivity and purity of the products thereby obtained. A selection of examples and of recent findings shows the large potential of this technology for the synthetic chemistry of the future.
