Abstract

We examined six common proper motion pairs containing a hydrogen-rich (DA) white dwarf and a main-sequence component. The white dwarfs were selected from the revised New Luyten Two-Tenths (rNLTT) catalog using the optical/infrared (V-J) reduced proper motion and the optical-infrared color diagrams. We fitted the observed spectra with model atmospheres to determine their atmospheric parameters. We discuss attempts to determine the system ages and the effect of metallicity.
