Abstract

We measured SOST serum levels using ELISA (Biomedica Medizinprodukte GmbH & Co. KG, Vienna, Austria) in our cohort of 22 patients with ISM (mean disease duration, 10.9 6 9.3 years) with osteopenia or osteoporosis. We have been unable to detect differences compared with perfectly matched healthy subjects (n 5 50; mean 6 SD age, 55 6 14 years). In our patients we confirmed a positive significant correlation between age and SOST levels (b 5 0.484, P 5 .047).
