Abstract

The synthesis, structure, vibrational analysis and a comparative vibrational study in function of the structure and the metal– ligand bond strength are discussed for a series of Mn(II)–urea–halogenide complexes. Complex [MnCl 2 U] has been prepared and studied for the first time. The single-crystal X-ray structure of the 1:6-bromide complex reveals the presence of octahedral [MnU 6 ] 2 ions and bromide counterions.
