Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe the selection process for the devices and alarms of a smart home for persons with a memory disorder. These findings are presented as a practical example of putting together a networked smart home for a person with memory disorder, based on literature review and user interviews to narrowing down candidates. Encountered problems include poor usability for both professional and patient users, vague descriptions of services for the selection process, and lack of a comprehensive system.
