Abstract

YVO 4 :Eu 3+ nanoluminophors: rods and particles have been prepared by different chemical methods: microwave technique and hydrothermal method. The effects of using polyethylenee glycol (PEG) polymer, the concentration values of PEG on the size, crystalline structure and morphology of YVO 4 :Eu 3+ nanorods were investigated. Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) data of the prepared samples have been investigated. For YVO 4 :Eu 3+ nanoparticles luminescent spectra, decay times and time resolved luminescent spectra were studied. The photoluminescent spectra of YVO 4 :Eu 3+ at room temperature revealed that, under UV excitation, YVO 4 :Eu 3+ exhibit strongly luminescence with narrow bands corresponding to the intra-4f transitions of 5 D 0 –
