Abstract

Since the isolation of influenza virus in 1933, a great deal of work was carried out in order to develop influenza vaccines and improve these fundamental tools of prevention in terms of production, quality control, safety and tolerability, and immunogenicity. The paper summarizes the cornerstones of the continuous evolution of influenza vaccines and the most recent and promising developments in this field. ; SeriesInformation ; Journal of Preventive Medicine and Hygiene, Vol 52, No 3 (2011)
