Abstract

The syntheses of a series of novel N,O,O and N,O,S donor tridentate Schiff base ligands H2L1 and H2L2 via the condensation of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formylpyrazol-5-ol(thiol) with 2-hydroxymethylaniline and their Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), and Mn(II) complexes are reported. The compounds are characterized by the C, H, N, S, metal elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy; 1H NMR data for ligands, low-temperature magnetic measurements, X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The crystal structures for Ni(II) and Cu(II) coordination compounds with the compositions NiL2 and Cu2L2 are established by X-ray crystallography.
