Três Pontas is one of the most important coffee producing regions of Brazil. Therefore it is important to assess the size and distribution of the coffee lands in the region. The objective of this work was to evaluate these lands in time and space using geotechnologies. TM Landsat images from four different dates, during a seven year study period, were used. Land use maps for the years 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2007 were generated. Using the GIS SPRING spatial analyses tools, it was concluded that coffee land occupation increased 7.45%. The areas of coffee in production increased 11.24%, which probably improved the region's productivity. No changes in the spatial distribution pattern were observed.
