Abstract

The crystal structure of (H9O4)2[Mo2(S2)2Cl8 ] (1), obtained by treatment of MoS2Cl3(TeCl4)2 with hot concentrated HCl with subsequent crystallization upon cooling, was determined. The isostructural bromide (H9O4)2[Mo2(S2)2Br8] (2) was obtained in the same way. The proton conductivity of 1 and 2 was measured.
