To evaluate the cost benefits ratio of a disease eradication campaign it is necessary, in a first place, to evaluate in the most objective way those economic damages caused, both directly and indirectly, by such disease. As to Echinococcosis/hydatidosis, the different calculation methods which have been used also in Sardinia have led to conflicting and not always comparable evaluations. To allow a comparative research in the several Mediterranean regions and attempt was made to apply the parameters proposed by Gallardo and E.Q. Bereciartua.
