Abstract

This work presents the results of a case study done with undergraduate degree students in chemistry and other courses at Mato Grosso do Sul State University (UEMS), in the years 2010 and 2011 of Chemistry subproject of Institutional Scholarship Program for Initiation to Teaching (PIBID). The central question of the research was "Has PIBID influenced the initial training of academics that entered the program?" The research which opted for the semistructured interview technique to verify its assumptions about teaching practice and also about the program. It was possible to verify that the program plays an important role in the academic professional training of undergraduate students. The students acquired awareness of the how importance of always be looking for different resources and instructional materials and methodologies to enhance the teaching and the learning processes of high school students.
