Abstract

The purpose of the Arctic Biodiversity Assessment (ABA) is to synthesize and assess the status and trends of biodiversity in the Arctic, and provide a first and highly needed description of the state of biodiversity in the Arctic. Our knowledge of the taxonomic diversity of plants and algae in the Arctic is very uneven, and for all groups this knowledge is insufficient for describing biodiversity trends (Daniëls et al. 2013).
