Abstract

The geodesic connectedness of outer Kerr space–time is proven by using a topo-logical method. The proof is based on arguments about Brouwer's degree for the solutions of functional equations. The applicability of these topological arguments for dealing with geodesics in space–times is stressed. © 2002 American Institute of Physics.
