Abstract

Based on investigations carried out, the informative capacity of some neuro behavioral tests was established in the course of clinical diagnosis of manganese intoxication in arc-welders exposed to Mn-containing welding fumes. The average duration of employment of arc-welders was 19.5 years. The most significant differences between welders and referents were revealed in performing stability static test, fingerprint test, fine motor skills assessment. A recommended algorithm for application of neuro behavioral tests allows early detection of initial manifestations of manganese intoxication as a result of occupational exposure to welding aerosol.
