Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) At a record distance: The methyl group at C176 of the nucleotide loop of vitamin B12 derivatives has a significant effect on their characteristic "base-on"/"base- off" switch (see scheme), the constitutional result of which is a remarkable 11 bonds away from C176.
