Abstract

The composition of the essential oil from the roots of Salvadora persica L. (Salvadoraceae), collected in Jordan. was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Seventeen compounds were detected, the main constituents being benzyl isothiocyanate (70%), limonene (9.4%) and α-pinene (8.7%).
