Abstract

A criterion was recently given in [13] which characterizes weak compactness of the integration map f ↦ ∝ fdP, for fϵL1(P), associated with a spectral measure P. In this note a criterion is established for integration maps associated with indefinite spectral integrals, that is, for operatorvalued measures of the type Q: E ↦ ∝EfdP for some fϵL1(P). Such measures are of some interest when considering for P the resolution of the identity of a compact, scalar-type spectral operator acting in a Banach space, [8, 9].
